Dr. Martinez has been in practice since June, 1984. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska and then moved to Big Spring, Texas, where he graduated from High School in 1975. Dr. Martinez attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1980 with honors, while concurrently receiving his Pharmacist Degree. He chose pharmacy as his undergraduate degree because he knew this would be helpful with his future dental career. He graduated from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1984. Dr. Martinez is a member of the Greater Houston Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and American Dental Association. Every year, Dr. Martinez attends continuing education courses that keep him up to date with the most innovative dentistry as well as with the latest medical, oral and dental health news.
In his spare time, Dr. Martinez enjoys running, golfing, fly fishing and spending time with his family.

KAREN
Karen graduated with honors from the University of Puebla, Mexico with a D.D.S. degree. She then came to the U.S. to specialize in preventative dental hygiene. She continues to expand her education by participating in dental hygiene courses and seminars throughout the year. "I truly love my profession; helping patients improve their oral and overall health is my true calling. I pride myself in transforming a patient’s perception that visiting the dentist is a traumatic experience, to putting them at ease during their appointment and having them look forward to their next dental visit." In her free time, Karen enjoys traveling, reading and engaging in Houston’s cultural activities!

Ronnie
RONNIE
Ronnie is Dr. Martinez's dental assistant. She is originally from South Africa and moved to Texas when she was 16 years old. She has always had an interest in the dental field, and this eventually led her to pursue dental assisting. In 2006 she took the dental assisting exam with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. She has 5 years of chair-side experience and loves her job very much.
In her spare time she enjoys relaxing at home with her husband Rick and their two sons Angel and Ryan.

Tara
TARA
Tara graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with her Bachelor's in Integrative Physiology in May 2011. She then moved from her hometown of Boulder, Colorado to Houston in August 2011. She plans to apply to dental schools in Texas and Colorado this summer. Tara currently helps out as a front office assistant, and in the process is familiarizing herself with the inner workings of a dental office- which will certainly be helpful for her dental future.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, dancing, and exploring Houston with her puppy, Pepper.

Decker
DECKER
Decker has been an integral part of the office since 2003. Every day, he oversees the patients and staff from the safety of his bed in Dr. Martinez's office.
When he isn't napping, Decker enjoys carrying his toys around, getting his ears cleaned, and going for walks.
